Our team has selected some of their favourite perennials and shrubs to help you achieve late summer, early autumn colour in your garden. Three are also very popular with bees so if you are looking to attract pollinators into your garden then go for Nepeta, Helenium and Hebe.


 


  • Nepeta ‘Walker’s Low’ £13.49

     

    The violet to lavender-blue flowers of Nepeta ‘Walker’s Low’ will add colour to your garden into autumn. It is ideal for attracting bees and the aromatic foliage adds another dimension.
    -Plant in well-drained soil in full sun or part shade. -Water thoroughly before and after planting and regularly in the first season. -Trim faded flowers and foliage back towards the end of the season to encourage regrowth in the spring.

  • Gladiolus Murielae £7.99

     

    Everything about these Gladioli is dramatic from the tall stems to the white flowers with purple centres to the fragrance.
    -Plant in well-drained soil in full sun and ensure they are well watered until established. -Cut back the foliage when they turn yellow and put in a pot to ensure winter protection.

  • Weigela ‘Pink Poppet’ £10.99

     

    This colourful shrub will certainly add colour and character to your garden year on year, simply prune back each year after flowering.
    -Suitable for any good, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade. -Water thoroughly in the pot before planting and water well in dry spells during the first year.

  • Helenium ‘Moerheim Beauty’ £8.99

     

    The height of the stems and orange colour of the flowers make this perennial truly eye catching. It is also popular with bees and butterflies and so will add extra atmosphere to your garden.
    -Plant in well-drained soil in full sun and water well during dry spells.

  • Hebe ‘Donna® Emma’ £6.99

     

    This evergreen shrub has wonderful glossy dark green foliage and gorgeous purple-pink flowers perfect for attracting bees. It will flower from summer onwards and may need protection from frost.
    -Suitable for well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
